Wolf Creek 2016

Atticus has seen many of his cousins this summer!  Near the beginning of July he got to see his second cousin, Everest.  He is so adorable and we loved hanging out with Everest's awesome parents!
That was a visit that was too short!  But there will be more with the Jacksons.

Even more exciting, Atticus got to really spend some quality time with his cousins from the Laney and Loader families.  I'm pretty sure he enjoyed our get togethers even more than I did, which is saying something.

Something that we loved during our stay at Wolf Creek and then our shenanigans afterward was the way Atticus started pronouncing our family members' names.  He was pretty good with Noah and Isaac's names.  Ashton became "Ashy" and Ellie became "Eyee."  Danny- "Dayee" Bobbie- "Bahyee", the dog Buddy- "Buhyee."  He even has started calling his Grandma Toni "Mamee," which I love.

Here he is saying Natalie's name.  I think he may have loved little Natalie the most.  Even now, he'll say her name when he goes somewhere that they played.  It is darling.

Here he is tickling her on the couch.  Is there anything more adorable?

While we were at Wolf Creek, we had a few chances to go boating with Dad and James.  Here are a few pictures from Pine View:

We also had a great time singing a couple nights in a row.  I love spending time singing Dad's old songs from the 60s.  It was cool to get the grandkids in on the action, too.  They especially loved the song "Yellow Bird."

There were plenty of fun times up at the resort.  Hopefully this can become somewhat of a tradition!

Little did we know that we had another week or more to play with the Laneys!  Here are a few of our activities:

There was the Provo Pioneer Village for FHE-

We saw the Provo City Center Temple

And a trip to Provo wouldn't be complete without checking out BYU campus (a teensy bit!)
We carried very different materials in our backpacks this time around.  ;)

We ended our day in Provo with a delicious meal at the Brick Oven.

 We went to Temple Square:

Of course, everyone had to have a turn at the pulpit, and great was the false doctrine issued forth...

We even enjoyed some live music and yummy Mexican food at a local favorite, La Costa.

In the end, it wasn't where we went so much as who we were with that made it such a great two weeks.

While Atticus (and his Mommy!) miss his Daddy while he's away, it's been nice to have loved ones nearby to fill in the gap, at least a little bit...
